Silhouette Soft – the ‘lunchtime face-lift’
Silhouette Soft is a revolutionary new thread lift treatment that helps to treat signs of ageing.
It’s suitable for men and women and any skin type.
It has a dual effect – the initial lift and collagen regeneration – that can take years off your facial age.
It’s a technological innovation, offering a simple way to a redefined face, restored volume and reduced wrinkles, all without the use of incisions or sedation.
The discreet, 60-minute procedure means you can be in and out within a lunch hour, and able to go back to your daily life straight away.
Silhouette Soft can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with dermal fillers and Botox.
Where can Silhouette Soft be used?
Silhouette Soft can be used to treat and contour various parts of the face, including the:
- lower jaw
- cheeks and cheekbones
Is it safe?
Silhouette Soft is approved by MHRA in the UK and the FDA in the USA, for the restoration and/or correction of facial skin laxity.
Polylactic acid – the main ingredient of Silhouette Soft threads – has been used successfully in surgical procedures for more than 40 years, for bioresorbable sutures, in bone plates and screws, and as a medium for medication.
How does it work?
Silhouette Soft threads are made of a clear, absorbable material of polylactic acid, which dissolve and help stimulate your skin’s own collagen production. These threads are inserted under the skin using a fine needle – without the need for incisions – to elevate the sagging tissue and lift problem areas.
Only a small local anesthesia is needed at the entry and exit points of the sutures. Once the suture has been applied, we apply slight compression to the tissue to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect. The non-inserted ends of the thread are cut off, and you’re done.
The effect lasts between 18 months to 2 years.
Is there a long recovery period?
However, as with all cosmetic procedures, you may experience some very slight bruising or swelling in the days following the procedure and some mild tension in the areas that have been elevated. But, other than that, there is no muscular restriction or recovery time needed.
During the week after treatment you should not undergo dental surgery and you must avoid facial and beauty treatments. We recommend that you avoid any excessive exercise for two weeks after the treatment, and advise you to sleep on your back and slightly elevated (using 2 pillows) during that time. You should also be gentle when cleansing your face.
