The Rise of the Fox Eye

The Rise of the Fox Eye

We all know about the Jenner lip and the Kardashian bum. But there’s a new aesthetic tweakment that’s being pounced on by the Hollywood elite – and it’s all in the eyes. This elegant, refined, and ever-so-subtle enhancement gives you the almond eyes and gently up-sloping brows of your dreams, in the same time it takes to get a manicure.

The Fox Eye is an innovative treatment that’s brand new to our shores this year. Prior to its introduction, there were negligible options for eye adjustments – namely, two:

Blepharoplasty, an eyelid surgery in which surgical incisions are made into the upper and lower eyelids, from which fat, excess skin and sagging muscle are removed.

Another close caller is the lateral eyebrow lift or ‘temporal lift’, in which surgery is performed on the outer corners of the brow, creating a straighter, more elevated look to the ocular region.

Both of these surgeries are just that – surgeries, which involve incisions, anaesthetic, and recovery time, and will set you back several thousand pounds.

The Fox Eye Lift is truly the next generation of cosmetic enhancement. There are no scalpels, no stitches, and minimal downtime.

So how does it work?

The Fox Eye Lift is performed using a tiny thread bearing conical support points, which is delicately woven underneath the subdermis to act as ‘scaffolding’ beneath the skin.

It instantly boosts volume, and releases collagen-stimulating particles over time, meaning the regenerative effects will keep coming for weeks after treatment. There are a couple of different products that can be used; one with the rather lovely sobriquet of Silhouette Soft – a gentle, all-natural, biodegradable polymer thread; and one which you may hear more commonly of, polydioxanone (PDO) threads: similarly biodegradable, and the same material used for medical stitches.

Which product is used depends on the area of the brow that’s being raised – Dr Victoria Manning or Dr Charlotte Woodward can discuss the best option for you for a truly unique and personalised adjustment plan.

How long does it last?

The threads remain under the skin for approximately 12 months, after which point, they are metabolised by your body (naturally, longevity will depend on the speed of your unique metabolism). However, the collagen remaining will maintain your results for up to 18 months.

Does it hurt?

One of the myriad reasons for this procedure’s increasing popularity is that the region it’s performed on, the sub-dermis sits beneath the epidermis and the dermis, and is a relatively painless region on which to perform adjustments. You will receive a local anaesthetic, but many patients describe it as a relaxing and comfortable procedure.

Is the Fox Eye Lift right for me?

Although the Fox Eye Lift is being embraced by actresses and celebs wanting to reap its beautifying rewards without a dramatic (read: paparazzi alerting) change, the speedy and cost-effective nature of the procedure is attracting clients from all walks of life, including:

  • Women in their 20s and 30s wishing to emulate the cat-like ‘Instagram face’ (a la Gigi Hadid) without fiddling for hours with liquid eyeliner (we all know the struggle);
  • More mature ladies who are seeing signs of drooping or general ageing around the eyes and want a youth-boosting lift;
  • and those with hooded eyes who desire a more open-eyed, feline aesthetic.

With a lower price tag than a Mulberry bag, and a top-up required just once annually, this might just be the tweakment that finally topples lip fillers. Who needs a plump pout when the beauty was in the eye of the beholden all along?

Levity aside, the Fox Eye Lift is ideal for implementing in tandem with other enhancements for a striking visage. Combined with lip fillers, it can create a powerful and exotic appearance. The Fox Eye Lift combined with cheek fillers can create a sharp, cat-like appearance, and the Eye Lift plus chin fillers can emulate a pixie-esque look a la Audrey Hepburn.
