Perk™ – the new facial exfoliating treatment from HydraFacial™

Perk ups your HydraFacial

What is Perk™?

Perk™ from HydraFacial is the world’s first facial exfoliating procedure that, after your in-clinic treatment session, you can continue to use at home.

It gives immediate results and long-lasting benefits – from as little as a 10-minute treatment – which makes it easy to fit into a busy daily schedule.

You can also enhance your results by combining Perk with other complementary treatments, such as lip fillers and botulinum toxin wrinkle-reducing injections (Botox).

What areas does Perk treat?

Perk is effective as a stand-alone treatment for face, lips and eyes, and as an upgrade to HydraFacial skin resurfacing and rejuvenation treatment.

As a face treatment, it works by gently cleansing and replenishing skin, before adding potent antioxidants to reveal a gorgeous, healthy glow.

For your eyes, the treatment awakens the delicate eye area with energising green tea extract and citric acid, a natural skin brightener.

Perk lip treatment gives you smooth and perfectly primed lips, using key ingredients such as peppermint oil and peony extract that lightly plump your pout.

How does it work?

Perk uses patented Roller Flex technology, to carefully remove surface layer dead skin cells and impurities.

At the same time, the applicator’s roller ball gently flexes the pores, which helps to ensure the absorption of the refreshing serum – the vital antioxidants and nutrients that replenish your skin.

After your in-clinic treatment, you get to take the Perk applicator home with you.

The home-use applicator contains a month’s supply of the serum, to give your skin an added boost of potent antioxidants and nutrients anytime, wherever you go.

You can then book a follow-up appointment with us at the clinic, and receive a new applicator to continue the treatment at home.

How long does a Perk treatment take?

Each separate Perk treatment at River Aesthetics is designed to be performed in less than 10 minutes.

If you choose all three treatments – face, lips and eyes – in one session, the whole procedure will be completed in less than 30 minutes.

How often should I get a Perk treatment?

We recommend that you have a Perk treatment every 30 days, to enhance and maintain the health of your skin.

By this time, your take-home serums will be running low.

However, as long as you are not receiving aggressive exfoliation treatments such as chemical peels at the same time, you can have a Perk treatment every week.

Please contact us if you would like to know more about Perk facial exfoliating treatment, and to book your first appointment.

How often should I use Perk at home?

We recommend that you use Perk every morning and every night, after you cleanse your skin.

In the morning, it helps to wake up your skin and creates a smooth surface for makeup applications: at night, applying the Perk serum gives your skin added hydration.

Perk serums are gentle enough to use more than twice a day, for an extra skin boost.

However, the amount of serum in your applicators is designed for twice-a-day use up to 30 days.

Does a Perk treatment hurt?

A Perk treatment does not hurt: it is a very gentle, liquid exfoliation, combined with a lightly pressured vacuum suction.

Are there any side effects from Perk?

If your skin is particularly sensitive, you may notice some slight redness following a Perk exfoliation treatment, but this will subside quickly.

While you should not experience any other reaction, such as break-outs, we recommend you are gentle with your skin and do not use any harsh exfoliators for about a week after treatment.

Are there any risks from using Perk?

Perk is suitable for all ages, and the carefully-formulated antioxidant serums are gentle enough to work for all skin types.

However, please tell us – before your treatment – if you have an allergy to shellfish, vitamin C or gluten.

If you do have an allergic reaction, you should rinse your skin with cool water and contact us as soon as possible.
