FAQ
How long does it last?
The threads remain under the skin for approximately 6 months after which point, they are metabolised by your body, leaving the regenerated collagen to maintain the lift. If combined with muscle relaxing injections to stop the downward pull around the eye, we can expect the results to last 12-18 months.
Does it Hurt?
It is a relatively painless and quick 15-minute procedure that is carried out under local anaesthetic
What is the downtime?
The skin around the eye and forehead is delicate, so bruising is a possibility. Minor swelling and a slight post-procedure discomfort are to be expected. However, you can help to reduce the chances of bruising by avoiding alcohol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, Omega 3 and Vitamin E supplements 48 hours prior to your appointment.
Which thread do you use?
The type of thread we choose depends on your concerns and the area of the brow that is being lifted. We use Silhouette Soft®, PDO and Aptos threads at River Aesthetics.
Can I combine the treatment with dermal fillers?
Combining dermal fillers with threads in the temple area creates beautiful results. Correcting volume loss in the temple area not only looks aesthetically pleasing but will also support the tail of the brow.
