IPL SKIN PIGMENTATION TREATMENT

Correct pigmentation for clear, glowing skin at River Aesthetics with our Lumenis® M22 Resurfx treatment. This IPL light treatment targets pigmentation, sunspots and age spots found on the face, décolletage and back of the hands for a clearer complexion.

Collagen stimulating skin treatment

Combining three high-tech machines in one, the Lumenis® M22 Resurfx treatment offers many kinds of skin resurfacing and enables us to achieve excellent clinical results over a sequence of treatments whilst keeping your comfort maximal and downtime minimal.

The unique fractional rejuvenation technology of the Lumenis® ResurFX allows for non-ablative skin resurfacing, which means it treats the layers of skin under the surface without damaging the surface itself. The M22 machine is able to treat over 40 skincare problems including pigmentation, freckles, acne, age spots, sunburn, melasma, unwanted hair, stretch marks, scars, rosacea, birthmarks, leg veins and more. It can also even out skin tone, treating fine lines, pores and other signs of ageing. This state-of-the-art laser provides unrivalled resurfacing results, completely transforming skin and also stimulates the production of new collagen in the deep layers of the skin giving the patient new, radiant and youthful skin.

The M22 laser machine uses a specific wavelength of light which pulses through the skin’s surface, targeting a specific area in the underlying tissue. In the treatment of pigmentation, the laser causes the pigment to break down into smaller particles, before rising up to the surface of the skin to flake away as part of the body’s natural healing process. FAQ

Does it hurt?

You’ll feel a slight warm sensation, which feels like a flick of an elastic band during the treatment, but the IPL pulses are brief and can be timed for your level of comfort.

How any sessions are needed?

You will see a great improvement after 1 treatment, however pigment can take up to 3 sessions to be fully treated at a 4 week interval.

How long do the results last?

Results are long-lasting, but you will need to make sure you’re protecting your skin from further sun and environmental damage to prevent new spots and blemishes appearing.

Additionally, it’s important to note that while the IPL treatment does have a significant impact on pigmentation, it doesn’t stop the natural ageing process, so new spots or age-related blemishes may still appear over time.

What can I expect after this treatment?

Immediately following treatment, you may experience some redness or swelling, depending on your customised treatment settings. The swelling will usually diminish after a few hours, however some redness can last for up to 5 days. Most patients are able to resume their daily activities the very same day. You should, however, stay out of direct sun for a few weeks.

IPL SKIN PIGMENTATION TREATMENT

“As we age the skin’s sun damage from our younger years starts to show. This can result in freckles, generalised darkening of pigment and sun/age spots. Using IPL, we can target these blemishes with incredible results after 1 session.”
