During the Lumenis M22 acne treatment, short pulses of intense light are emitted from an applicator onto your skin. The blue light penetrates through the most superficial skin layers and helps eliminate acne bacteria while the infra-red light simultaneously reduces the inflammation or excess sebum (skin oil) production that characterises acne.
IPL technology allows treatment of acne with specific wavelengths of light, which target the bacteria in the skin as well as inflamed sebaceous glands that contribute to breakouts.
