BIOIDENTICAL HORMONE THERAPY

What is Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (BHRT)?

BHRT is a natural hormone therapy treatment most frequently used to ease the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Bioidentical hormones completely copy your naturally occurring hormones which means the hormones used in BHRT are identical to the hormones which are produced in your body, and work to rebalance your hormone levels.

REPLACE DEPLETED HORMONES

Hormones are chemical messengers within the body that regulate day to day functions, these include both mental and physical health, sleep patterns & sex drive. As we age, our hormone levels decline leading to unwanted symptoms and actually speed up the ageing process. BHRT aims to replace these depleted hormones and restore the body to its optimum function by using plant-derived hormones.

Through a combination of gels, capsules or lozenges River Aesthetics are able to replace testosterone, oestrogen and progesterone, DHEA and thyroid hormones. Upon visiting your River Aesthetics Bio ID doctor, a full assessment and relevant blood/saliva tests will be taken from you to determine your hormone levels and provide a bespoke treatment plan to suit your needs. A follow-up consultation will then be arranged to discuss your results, your treatment plan and the prescriptions that you will need.

FAQ

What is the difference between HRT and BHRT?

The BHRT process is far more effective at restoring imbalances than traditional HRT. In conventional HRT, you are looking at achieving normal ranges of indices. However, BHRT looks at your optimum levels to make you look better and feel great.

Bioidentical hormones are different from those used in traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in that they are made from plant estrogens and are identical chemically to those our bodies produce naturally. The hormones used in traditional HRT are made from the urine of pregnant horses and other synthetic hormones.

What is the process for hormone replacement at River Aesthetics?

Phase 1:

When you visit us, a full assessment and relevant blood/saliva tests will be taken from you. A follow up consultation will then be arranged to discuss your results, and your treatment plan.

Phase 2:

On receipt of your prescription our pharmacy will contact you and your payment will be processed over the phone.

Phase 3:

If you are a new patient your bioidentical hormone gels, capsules or lozenges will be dispatched to the clinic (this is usually within 3-7 working days of receipt of your prescription). We will then guide about how to use them. If you are an existing patient and your prescription is a repeat order your medication will be dispatched directly to you. It will arrive via Royal Mail, and costs will be added to your order receipt. If you are a returning customer with available repeats on your prescription, please ensure you call us one week prior to your medication running out. If you have no repeats left, you will need to see us for a new prescription before any further medication can be dispensed to you.
