PDO THREAD LIFTING

For facelift type results without the need for surgery, PDO threads effectively treat the signs of ageing giving you a naturally refreshed appearance with a duel lifting and regenerating collagen effect. Suitable for both the face and neck, the absorbable sutures work by gently lifting the skin to instantly give a beautiful youthful contour.

NATURAL LOOKING RESULTS

Over time, our skin gradually loses its natural collagen, often leading to sagging skin around the mouth, jowl, cheek and neck area. Thread lifts are a minimally invasive procedure, designed to lift and tighten the skin to reduce the visible signs of ageing without the downtime of surgery. Made from Polydioxanone (PDO), the same material used for medical stitches which dissolve naturally in the body over time, the smooth sutures are inserted via needle beneath the subcutaneous layer of fat in the face and pulled tight to instantly lift the sagging skin. Once the threads are in place, your body starts to produce new bundles of collagen around each thread, which over time gradually plumps out the skin and gives an incredible rejuvenating effect.

River Aesthetics is one of the UK’s top thread lifting clinics, where we empower our patients to age well by achieving beautiful, natural-looking results. Our non-surgical thread lifts restore youthful appearances in both men and women, book your PDO thread lift at River Aesthetics today.

FAQ

How does the treatment work?

PDO threads are made of a clear, absorbable material of polylactic acid, which dissolve and help stimulate your skin’s own collagen production. These threads are inserted under the skin using a fine needle – without the need for incisions – to elevate the sagging tissue and lift problem areas. Only a small local anaesthetic is needed at the entry and exit points of the threads. Once the thread has been inserted, we apply slight compression by hand to the tissue to reshape it and obtain the desired lifting effect.

How long do the results last?

Results from the PDO Thread Lift treatment last around 2 years.

To achieve the best results, we often use a combination treatment with Dermal Fillers, where the threads reposition sagging skin, providing definition and contouring and the Dermal Fillers replace the lost volume smoothing the surface lines and wrinkles.

What areas can be treated?

Face & Breasts

How long does the treatment take?

The PDO Thread Lift treatment takes around 1.5 hours, with 30 minutes for the pre-consultation.

When should I see the results?

Due to collagen stimulation, you will see the optimum results at 3 months but there will be some immediate results straight after treatment.

Is recovery time needed?

Downtime after a thread lift treatment is minimal. However, as with all cosmetic procedures, you may experience some very slight bruising or swelling in the days following the procedure. During the first 2 weeks after treatment, you should not undergo dental surgery and you must avoid facial and beauty treatments. We recommend that you avoid any impact exercise for two weeks after the treatment and advise you to sleep on your back and slightly elevated during that time.
